248729 - In Bookmarks Manager, sort view does not sort data

The bookmarks when you create them and then have them in alaphebitcal order  A-Z
 you open the book ,arks and they are in   all kinds of order not alphabetical,
at all but randonly in order,spread out everywhere.   I had asked Mozilla to put
all my book marks in order after importing them from IE 6.0   then when asking
Mozilla to take book marks and put them in  A to Z order alaphebitical order it
doesnt work at all its all  jumbled up order

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.book marks
2.manage book marks
3.bookmarks manager and then  do the view sorted by name and then A TO Z

Actual Results:  
when i go back to book marks on the web page and look something up they are in
all kinds of order not alaphabetical or anything just RANDOM  out of  all kinds
of order

Expected Results:  
put all book marks  in order

This bug is invalid. 
You do view sorted A-Z in the bookmark manager. That does as the name says sort
the bookmarks alphabetically in the bookmark manager. It is  not intented to
sort the bookmarks in your bookmark file. And consequently the bookmarks in your
browser do not change

Mark (if you agree with me) can you Resolve the bug as invalid? I don't have the
rights to do it.
Also don't enter such a bug as a major bug. This is just a minor feature. Major
is when for example bookmarks do not work at all

that's not true, at least on Mozilla 1.7 WinXP - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U;
Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616... here the bookmarks are being
sorted both in the bookmarks manager and in the bookmarks list showed in the
browser.
If Firefox has a different behaviour, then it could be a bug... i guess.

Reading the comments, I assume this is a Firefox only bug.
There are tons of Firefox Bookmark bugs,  maybe tis one is a dupe of that:

I still disagree that if you select an item in the view menu that the bookmarks
file should be changed. 
There should be an Sort Folder item in the edit menu instead which really
changes the bookmarks. This is the way it works in Mozilla 1.7.

The view menu in mozilla 1.7 does not offer you the option to view the bookmarks
in a sorted way. I don't see necesity for changing the sort of the view either.

If it were up to me I would close this bug. And file a new bug  as a request for
enhancement to get an Edit -> Sort Folder menu item and also remove the sorted
menu items from the view menu. So you basically end up with the bookmarks dialog
of mozilla 1.7

BTW There is a sortbookmarks extension for firefox which actually sorts the
bookmarks
