User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9 operation system: Windows XP version 5.1 build 260.xpsp1 020828-1920 I have Firefox set as a default browser. When Firefox was NOT RUNNING I opened Sygate Personal Firewall and choosed option, from menu with a link to website. When Firefox was opened it was WITHOUT my customisation- it had the same settings as if I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and started first time. 1. It was with default theme and when I opened Tools/Themes there were just one- default theme. 2. There were no browser extentions after I opened Tools/Extentions. 3. There were no Google toolbar 5. When I went to download.com and entered "Sygate" in that website search, browser message poped out telling me that it won't be secure to submit that info. 4. Mozilla Firefox behaved as if I just installed it and runned first time. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Mozila Firefox 0.9 IS NOT RUNNING. It is set as a default browser on my computer. 2. open Sygate Personal Firewall (free version) 3. from Help menu choose option with a link- managed personal firewall, register or upgrade to Sygate personal Firewall Pro. It will open Firefox browser with different(default) settings. Actual Results: Firefox Browser was opened without customisation( as if it was just installed) Expected Results: Firefox opened with my preset customisation. I repeated this every time I done my mentioned steps EXCEPT after I opened firefox browser first(with any page) and AFTER that I tried to launch Firefox with Sygate firewall.

Symptoms same as described BUT do *not* have Sygate on system. Firefox 1.0 working OK yesterday;: no new programs installed yesterday; no registry change; no crashes. ZA, Norton AV, MS Spyware tester on system. None has interfered before & no changes made in their prefs yesterday. Running XP Home SP2. Whoops! - I did install MS's newest critical fix, announced yesterday. Don't remember if I accessed Firefox thereafter. Firefox loaded at install time (neither program closure nor reboot was asked for). KB887742. Will uninstall & report back.
