RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 246078

People

(Reporter: mpolitis, Assigned: p_ch)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1

I switched browsers from the previously default Internet Explorer. Clicking
links embedded in email messages started opening a file navigation window in
search of a LINK BROWSER to open, while simultaneously opening the correct
window using Firefox. To prevent this from happening, I followed the navigation
window and selected Firefox.exe. From that point on a link opens 2 identical
browser windows.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open email message with embedded links
2. click one of the links
3. close one of the 2 identical browser windows

Actual Results:
What happened is obvious. The problem just needs a solution.

Expected Results:
open a single browser window.

Nothing special. For now I am using the application as it was installed.
