Carried over from bug 24114: On Linux build 2000.01.24.08:

The htaccess password dialog is a grey window, with a blinking caret, no text
boxes. After I click close to the caret, the user ID box has focus, and I can
type. After I start typing, the white box and the typed text appears. To enter
the password, I have to click where the password field would ordinarily be; at
most one "*" is displayed. No field labels, or "OK", "Cancel" buttons are
displayed. POP server password dialog works fine.
On Linux build 2000.01.30.09:

The window is still blank initially, but text and buttons become visible once
you mouse over one of the buttons (OK, Cancel). The password and username boxes
are still grey, however, until you type in them. User Name field should have
focus. Tab should take you to Password field. The label for the password field
should just be "Password", not "Confirm Password". Password field only shows
first "*", and shows no caret.
Well, this isn't XUL. I'll try Single Signon, although it also happens on
password dialogs with single signon turned off.

It's dialogs, not single signon. Reassigning.

The problem with the bogus label of "confirm password" instead of "password" was
due to a dialog change that was made on Monday. When I discovered it I backed
it out Monday night so you shouldn't be having that problem any more.

Changing component to XP Apps. (HTML Dialogs is going away.)

i cannot repro this either (used 2000-02-09-08 comm bits on linux). however,
verifying this made me run into another issue where the password dialog cannot
be cancelled (bug 27148).
