The change in syntax in the -remote option needs to be documented properly in
Firefox --help.

I'd say because of executing:
>$ firefox --help

doesn't show accurate info about passing remote args.
Also the URL is I understand is not right for firefox.
From the mentioned bug or ather relevant to that bug you'll find which should be
rigt one.

I'm not sure why this change is necessary in the first place, and I'm moving to
generic xremoting very soon anyway. Not mine, probably WONTFIX.

This is resolved WONTFIX because somebody "is not sure why we need it"? 

Can you please argue that either 

1) there are command line arguments that are not documented in the --help output and you can argue why they should not be documented there? What use is --help then? Why leave the user in the dark about these arguments 

2) everything is already documented as it should

If neither 1) or 2) applies, this needs to be fixed.
-remote is a legacy commandline flag for compatibility with 1.0.x and is no longer recommended, therefore no longer documented.
Does this mean there is a different syntax to do the same things? Is there a documentation or a plan how this will work in the future.
