no visible content in the pane left. mouseclicks do not succeed to select
anything there, cursor up & down change selection, but does not change
righthand-side content (which keeps to be the first selection), nothing readable
left at all.
closing the dialog. now you can not open the Preferences until you quit &
restart mozilla.
