While this sounds like an interesting feature, such a feature would only appeal to a small minority of users and would therefore be better implemented in an extension. Marking WONTFIX.

Summary: Alarm sound repetition → Alarm sound repetition [extension fodder]
As an end user, I think you are very, VERY wrong. Anyone who is trying to use the calendar in an office setting would definitely want a reminder, say, 1 week, 2 days, 1 day and a couple of hours before the event, at least for some very important events. And for one, I ALWAYS want at least one day before and 1 hour before EVERY event. It just can't be that involved an enhancement -- just allow the creation of multiple alarm packages customized as it is now, and then allow the user to select which custom alarm package to apply to the event. This is just one simple step between clicking on "customize" and choosing the specific alarm setting. Thank you.

(In reply to comment #3) sas, the request in this bug is 'Alarm _sound_ repetition', not 'Multiple alarms for an event' (see bug 353492).
Simon Paquet - Please reconsider - A repeating sound until acknowledged would be an excellent feature. And this may not be such a minority of users feature. Developers may do almost all their work looking at a computer screen and therefore this feature may not seem so useful, BUT, many computer users are not always looking at their screen. Visual alarms that stay up until acknowledged are not useful for these people. A simple un-repeated sound may not be heard. If a person walks away from their desk/computer and does not hear the alarm, and the screen saver goes blank so they don't see the alarm - when they come back to their desk they don't know they have an alarm until it is way too late. You may have noticed that almost all normal physical alarms continue to make noise (for a long interval) until you shut them off. A simple short un-acknowledged sound is not considered sufficient for an alarm, for most people. Of course this comment was made in 2007 and this is 2010, so this is probably pointless.
