User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 I can't make Firefox my default GNOME browser, because if I do, and let's say from gnome-terminal I right click on a URL and say "Open Link", instead of a Firefox window with my URL in it I get the Firefox "Choose User Profile" dialog. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start firefox without arguments. 2. Start firefox with a URL argument, say "firefox http://www.mozilla.org". Actual Results: The second invocation with URL gives me the "Choose User Profile" dialog, with only "default" as a choice, which if I select, it says it can't use it because it's already in use. This makes firefox unusuable as a general purpose browser... I can't set it as my default browser in GNOME (or any other application for that matter) because it can't be started from another app with a URL. Expected Results: I should get a new browser window showing http://www.mozilla.org.
Using -remote doesn't work either: # firefox -remote 'openURL(http://www.mozilla.org)' Error: No running window found # firefox -remote 'ping()' Error: No running window found
