E-mail notification: I can't find any way to setup Netscape mail to perform audio notification of any kind when receiving new mail. Nor can other engineers. I use Netscape as my IMAP mail client exclusively from multiple sites and all platforms, but you really need this feature! And even though the preference option does exist for the NT platform, I've never been able to get it to work.
That's a neat feature. However, I doubt we get to doing it in mozilla during the 5.0 timeframe unless it comes from an external contribution...

This bug has entered the helpwanted domain. Ideally we should support all platforms for audio notification, but if someone is interested in just adding support for one platform I can imagine mozilla.org accepting such a patch. I think this is blocked by general audio support bugs, but I am not certain. All/All. This is 4xp. I'm not sure this is worthy, but I think RTM relnote should say that we don't have this feature (unless it's added).
I'll take a look. Does the sound played have to be user-specified?

This was fixed 2001-01-09. And there is also a bug about being able to choose any sound on your hd as biff-sound. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 64469 ***
