RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 250482

(Reporter: skydaemon80, Assigned: bugs)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040708 Firefox/0.9.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040708 Firefox/0.9.0+

Firefox does not display any notification (message box, status bar
message) if a search for text in the current Web page from the Find Toolbar is
unsuccessful.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose Find In This Page from the Edit menu, or press CTRL+F or /.
2. The Find Toolbar should appear. Enter some text that does not exist in the
currently-displayed page.

Actual Results:
As expected, the highlighting of text during the incremental search disappears.
However, there is no other feedback from Firefox indicating that the search failed.

Expected Results:
Firefox should inform the user that the entered search term(s) was not found, by
displaying the message,

    Text Not Found: "foo bar"

in the status bar, as was the case with the original Find As You Type feature.
-> Find Toolbar component.
