250673 - Firefox 0.9 failure to launch stuck in loop loading extensions datasource

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/124 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/125.1
Build Identifier: mozilla.org

Firefox 0.9 on Mac OS X Version 10.3.3 (Build 7F44) running on an iMAC is failing to launch application.
The icon appears in the tool bar, then disappears, then reappears, then disappears, etc.  
I checked the MAC console and see that the message below keeps repeating, stuck in a loop - 

*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
etc.



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on icon to launch app from DMG
2. app appears to initiate
3. then app fails
4. then appears to initiate again
5. then fails  etc
Actual Results:  
app stuck in loop, not launching

Expected Results:  
app should have launched

I do not believe there are any extensions installed at all, unless some
extensions are included as part of the 0.9 distribution.

Found some dups: This has prevoously been dup'ed against bug 24680 (see bug
24680 comment 7). But it seems to actually be a dup of bug 246789. A workaround
is mentioned there.
