User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.1) Gecko/20040707 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.1) Gecko/20040707 When going to some web sights, I get a pop-up window saying "The procedure entry point ?zget@nsDependentCString@@UBEPBDXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll". But when I click the OK button it connects anyway. This just started when I updated to the newest versionof Mozilla. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Goto http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?bCTsettings=1 2. Enter any two cities (I used Louisville, KY and Atlanta, GA) 3. Hit enter key. Actual Results: Page clears and pop-up appears saying "The procedure entry point ?zget@nsDependentCString@@UBEPBDXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll". I either click the OK button or hit the Entrer key and the page loads correctly. Expected Results: Loaded without the pop-up, Mozilla does not crash, but it is a major irritation. Most of the sights I need to access seem to produce the pop-up.
Do not install over the top of old builds of Mozilla, always uninstall your existing version first as directed in the release notes. Marking INVALID.

The error is most likely caused by a 3rd party Mozilla extension or theme. See bug 247950, bug 249375, bug 241459 etc. Carl, make a clean installation into a new directory and then use a freshly created profile and see if that helps.
See bug 195600 comment 71 [that was for Moz 1.4, but it still holds] See the release notes at http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla1.7/ and notably section "BEFORE YOU INSTALL", which states: "If you have a previous version of Mozilla installed Before installing a new version of Mozilla, you should uninstall your previous version first. If you have a third-party extension installed, particularly the spell checker, you should also completely delete your Mozilla install directory before making a new install. Do not install over an old Mozilla version."
