Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1

Upon entering the allmusic.com site (they just finished a site makeover today),
the following message is displayed:

"Notice: You are accessing allmusic.com with a browser that is not currently
supported. The appearance and functionality of the site could be impacted.
allmusic.com is optimized for Internet Explorer 5.5 and above for Windows."

Incidentally, this message ends up breaking the layout of the page. Haven't
tested out the site enough to actually see if anything doesn't work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit allmusic.com site
2.

Same thing here... I've done some hardcore testing and I'll list my exact steps
to reproduce what I see:
1: Visit allmusic.com site
2: enter Pearl Jam in query box at top (leave dropdown as default "name") and
press enter to vew search results
3: Notice search results are formatted incorrectly. Column headers are in
correct place, however data is not formatted under proper column.. "Relevance"
bar does not display...
4: Clicking first entry "Pearl Jam" brings up the proper page.
5: Left hand column overlaps center column.
6: clicking discography tab, left and center are now properly aligned, but
hovering over a release does not elicit the desired drop-down with album cover
art, best songs, etc.. also column headers for releases are incorrectly aligned.

I have left comments for the allmusic crew, time will tell if they reply.

I think the new allmusic site will make bug 194080 and bug 170947 obsolete

Ugliest. Redesign. Ever.

Confirming. There is a warning, and many pages lay out very improperly. I don't
know what the guidelines for severity are on evang bugs, but it's certainly not
"normal", given what a huge/popular/unique resource allmusic is, so I'm bumping
it up one, at least.

Summary: allmusic.com - Tells users that MSIE 5.5/Win is recommended; Moz is not → allmusic.com - Prominently tells users that MSIE 5.5/Win is recommended; lays out wrong
Good news: it's getting better :-) The first thing you notice is that the
message about AMG being optimized for IE has disappeared from the site. Now
there's a link on the main page that leads to "Updates and responses to your
feedback", where you can read that "(...) we had to pick the most widely used
browser by our users (over 87%) to optimize the site for and then work on
compatibility issues with the other major browsers as we go forward. We are
concentrating on making the site more accessible through Opera, Mozilla Firefox,
and Safari. We know how important it is to our users and we’re moving quickly."

But the best thing is that they've already fixed a few things. The main page
still looks bad, but, following the steps-to-reproduce:
3. The search results are now formatted correctly and the "Relevance" bar is
displayed
and
6. The discography page was also fixed and everything is looking fine.

Yaaaay! :-)
This bug was fixed some time ago. AMG works fine under Firefox. There is only
one small problem with the tracklists of albums. If a song has so many composers
that they don't fit in the "Composer" column, under IE you can mouseover the
track and the line will expand, showing you all of them. This does not work
under Fx. There are some errors in the JavaScript Console, but I'm not sure
whether they are connected with this problem. You can see it, for example, in
the tracklist of the album "Rattus Norvegicus" by The Stranglers. Anyway, apart
from this one thing, everything is working.
Resolving, it's been fixed for a while and I only just noticed it in my bug pile.
