Details

using build 200001252 on win95
1. open an existing HTML file within browser
2. select File|Edit page
3. set focus within the body, enter several characters, select undo
4. save the file
5. open file in ASCII editor (vi, notepad, simpletext)

expected results: the file should be unchanged and should be identical to the
original file

what happens: there are 15-20 new lines added within the body -- here si a
visual for you:

ORIGINAL FILE:

<BODY>
<P>I'm a little paragraph.</P>
</BODY>

SAVED FILE:

<BODY>

<P>I'm a little paragraph.</P>
</BODY>

It's really weird (that's a professional and technical opinion) :o)
Joe -- I tried this again with just the body data as I described above, there
are no spaces added, but the <HTML><HEAD></HEAD> and </HTML> are added to the
file. So, I tried this again with this:
<!-- comment 1 ->
<!-- comment 2 ->
<!-- comment 3 ->
before the body (No <HTML> or <HEAD> or <TITLE>)

and sure enough, there were 3 spaces added between the <BODY> element start tag
and the <P>, and as before the <HTML> and <HEAD> elements were added.
ok, this is a parser/layout bug, or feature, depending on who you ask. assigning
back to beppe for disposition.
