User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040709 Firefox/0.9.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040709 Firefox/0.9.0+ In some undetermined situation, hyphens (single-quotes) in bookmark strings are replaced with some other character-string such as ' and '. See attached screen prints. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. can't reproduce on demand, but it's beens happening for the last 2 - 3 rlses 2. 3.
In this screen print the single-quote is replaced by string #039; in an email received. (previous references to the "hyphen" are incorrect -- I meant the "single-quote")
Search shows 38 more problems in my bookmarks (everywhere there is a single-quote mark) -- this always happens after a new install. This is the third time in a month I've sent info on this bug. I would sure like to get it fixed -- AT LEAST GET IT ACKNOWLEDGED!

(I hope bugzilla doesn't mess up my & amps; and & # 39; (spacing mine) below) I have also noticed this problem with entities showing up instead of quotes in my bookmarks. It started/happened some weeks ago, when I installed a new nightly.Suddenly some of my bookmarks had ' in them instead of a normal quote. Didn't notice it right away so not sure when this (started) happened(happening). My bookmark for www.ars-technica.com was one, a bookmark for www.tvmag.com was another. Searching my bookmarks for the string "39" actually shows a whole list of them, it looks like one of the nightlies messed up my bookmark file. Something to note: my bookmarks.html actually contains Ars Technica: The PC enthusiast's resource i.e. it is as if some firefox update converted the ampersand in ' to & in bookmarks.html, causing the firefox to no longer recognise it as ' . Was there some kind of bookmarks.html upgrade thing some time ago that blindly replaced &'s with &s; without checking whether they were already part of an entity? A work-around is to edit the bookmarks.html and do a global search&replace, but without knowing where this problem came from, it may still be there or be back...

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
