when using the google PL search engine (it also happends in all the other
engines), the polish signs are not appropriately transferred to the
www.google.pl search field, that is, they loose the polish specific signs,
instead of them, some strange signs appears

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter a text with a polish signs in the search bar
2. choose e.g. google PL search engine and hit enter

Actual Results:
the text are not appropriately transfered to the google's search field (looses
polish specific signs)

Expected Results:
appropriate transfer of polish signs
Happens to me for the Firefox search (German Google), too.

If I type in something like "ungeschönt" in the search bar, it appears as
ungesch?nt in the Google Search page.

I am using Firefox 0.9.2 (original - no localization) on WinXP (German).

Works for me on Firefox v0.10.1 for Google, but I have the same problem with Yahoo.
The problem with the googlePL and googleDE plugins needs to be filed in
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/bugs.html (if it hasn't already been), since they are
maintained by a separate project. They need to include a queryCharset="utf-8"
attribute on the search element to tell Firefox to encode your query in the
UTF-8 that Google expects, rather than in your default charset. The included
Yahoo plugin's a different matter, but also a different bug, bug 270120
