User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) Build Identifier: I am a long time Outlook Express (OE) user, so am writing from that perspective. I had heard favorable comments about the Thunderbird email client recently, so I decided to try it (version 0.7.2) as well as the similar mail client that's integrated in Mozilla 1.7.1. Told it to import my OE settings... What a mess! Thunderbird created separate folders (Inbox, Drafts, Templates, Sent, Thrash) for *each one* of my dozen OE mail accounts. Why are account names even listed in the mail Folders bar? I don't get it. Mail folders should be independent of the account that happens to download the mail. To add insult to injury, Thunderbird gave each account the same default SMTP server, even though my OE accounts each specify a particular SMTP server. (Yes, I know you can edit the Thunderbird settings to specify a non-default SMTP server, but that should not have been necessary.) Thunderbird also ignored the fact that some of my OE accounts were configured to *not* download mail automatically, yet it proceeded to download those accounts every 10 minutes. All in all, not a pleasant experience. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: See above.
