User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2

With Firefox, the main window on the homepage the text is left justified which
pushes the text right up against photos. Explorer renders this correctly.

Love firefox!!! keep up the good work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to www.fortune.com
2.see top quarter of page, there is a main section that has the main title and
photos of featured articles
3.text always left justified in this section and smashes text against photos

Actual Results:
Text and photos legible, but formatting does not look proper

Expected Results:
proper format and spacing between text and photos to make a clean look
Attached file Testcase
Mozilla's layout is correct (same as Opera). IE/win32 seems to have a quirk/bug
that adds a gap next to the floated table, it can't be reset using
'margin-right:0'. NS4 also has the gap.

Maybe something to consider for quirks mode?
(we the did it for floated images - see bug 58899)

Attached file Testcase #2
IE's quirk isn't easily emulated. In Testcase #2 there is no gap between the
tables (or generally, blocks) but there is a gap between blocks and text
(IE6/Windows XP). So adding a simple fix ala bug 58899 will likely regress
some
existing sites.
*** Bug 269723 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Bug last changed in late 2004, filed against Firefox pre-1.0. I doubt anyone is going to miss this. Closing WFM, reopen if for some reason this still needs to be active.

This is not WFM. At best it's WONTFIX, but that's up to the module owner.

Please do not ever resolve bugs based on the fact that no one's said anything in a while, especially clear bugs with testcases in them! Just because no one's said anything, doesn't mean it's not a problem.

I can confirm this bug is fixed with the latest nightly of Firefox. Should i resolve this bug as WORKSFORME or WONTFIX?

WORKSFORME a report is not a problem
WONTFIX a report is a valid request but nothing can be done

Best, Paul

Using the testcase, I can reproduce on the latest Nightly:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0
Windows 7 x64

But when I navigated to www.fortune.com, I do not see any problems.
Steps Taken:
1. Go to www.fortune.com
2. Scroll down to view the Top Fortune Stories
3. Text and images appear correctly

Marking this WORKSFORME. Please reopen if you can reproduce in the latest Firefox Nightly.
