1.open http://www.cfc.com.cn/index.htm 2.open any other uri status bar will always show some chinese characters which is from http://www.cfc.com.cn/index.htm
WFM, current trunk, Linux. I don't see chinese characters but some UTF replacements looking like dices with numbers, but loading a new page clears statusbar completely. Is it Mozilla you are testing with, or Firefox? Which build ID?
oh.. and this isn't about tabbed browser is it? In which case it would be dup number 74 of bug 104532 ;)
