Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2

I selected Firefox to be my default web browser. My previous default browser was
Avant Browser (www.avantbrowser.com), a IE engine based browser. Now that
Firefox is my default browser, it can open HTM(L) pages when launched from
Explorer (Windows explorer), but .URL internet links are unchanged. In this
case, they remain with Avant, even though I instructed Avant not to restore
associations to itself.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Avant browser. Select it to be the default browser.
2. Reinstall Firefox. Also accept it to be the default browser.
3. Try launching a webpage.

Actual Results:
URLs launch Avant.

Expected Results:
The URL links should've launched Firefox.

Also noted is that in XP, attempting to select Firefox as the application for
URLs (go into Folder Options, File types, select 'url' then change application)
doesn't work.
