I have been a very satisfied user of Mozilla for over a year. Today, for the
first time, while the "sent" the emails are being saved in the "sent" folder, it
seems to go into an endless loop(dialog box shows"Copying message to Sent
Folder"), until I cancel the "Send". During this time, the emails are being sent
correctly, and saved in the "sent " folder correctly, but the program acts as if
the message has neither been sent, nor saved after I hit "Cancel" on the dialog box.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose email
2. Hit Send
3. Endless loop starts
Actual Results:
Dialog box says Saving message to Sent folder: sends and saves the message OK,
but have to manually hit Cancel to end the loop. Then composed email stays on
screen as if it has not been sent. To remove it from screen, I have to "cancel"
sending, and dialog bod asks if I want to save email: I say "Don't". If I save
Save, it seems to go into another endless loop, coming back with message "Unable
to Save"
Expected Results:
Click Send, message is sent and saved in Sent folder

Try this: find the "Sent.msf" file under your profile, and delete it.

i have the same problem. quite frequently i have to run 'compact folders'
because the just sent email keeps the dialog box 'copying message to sent
folder', but for me it does not copy the msg into 'sent'.
when this happens, i have to completelly close mozilla to be able to see the
sent folder content again. after closing, when i click on the 'sent' folder,
mozilla builds the summary for the folder.
additionally to this, for compacting the folders, i have to first delete any msg
from the folder so that the compact works properly.
this problem does not depend on the number of messages, because i clean the
folder sometimes and it keeps doing.
i have mozilla installed in one partition (c:) and the profile in another (d:)
in a dell notebook, d600.

I also have the same problem. On a random babis - maybe one in 30 emails - it
hangs on "saving message to sent folder".
I'm running Windows XP.
I've seen this problem for over a year. Seems to have started in 1.3 or so.
Shutting down mozilla and restarting it clears the problem. I'm using IMAP. But
the send folder is a local folder. This problem is real and it would be nice if
it were fixed.

highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
