It would be very nice if Mozilla apps could use the Calendar plugin for their
date-related items like when/how often to check for updated web pages (Mozilla,
Firefox), or when to look again at a certain email (Outlook has this along with
"label a message").

What does "How often to check for mails" have to do with calendar?  and "How
often to check for updates to web pages"

We are talking about calendar features itself here.

I didn't know where to better place this request, and I suspect that
this will require some kind of managing event handlers which may not
be there.

After all, it's labeled as a feature request, not a real bug.


Btw, Evolution also seems to have it.

I think the Outlook feature the reporter describes isn't "check my mail every x
minutes", but "remind me to look at this particular email on June 5th at 9:30am"

Re #3: yes, exactly.

Please note that I'm no Outlook user (being on Linux anyway), but this is
the #1 feature described as missing from Mozilla + TB by Ex-Outlook users
I'm talking to. Since they have no, umm, impetus to report a bug or RFE,
I did it, along with mentioning other items that spring to mind once
thinking about possible applications starts.
