User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; de-de) AppleWebKit/125.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/125.8 Build Identifier: 0.7.3 (20040803) Upon first opening the news group subscription dialog or pressing its refresh button the list of available groups is fetched from the server. This does not happen when in "working offline" mode. The bad thing is that users only see "Please wait" and a progress gauge instead of being told to change modes first. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. check File/Offline/Work Offline 2. Manage newsgroup subscriptions 3. press refresh button
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. The latest beta releases can be obtained from: Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/ Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
I can reproduce this with Thunderbird version 1.5 Beta 1 (20050908) and Mozilla 1.7.12. This is an interface issue and should be easy to fix. It can cause frustration for unexperienced users.

Reporter, does the problem still occur in the latest Thunderbird version, as of now 2.0.0.9? http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ (Thunderbird 1.5.0.x has reached end-of-life, as are prior versions 1.0.x and 0.x.) -- adding myself to cc list
Almost two weeks with no new information / comments, with Thunderbird 1.5.0.x having been end-of-life, bug has been resolved incomplete. Please reopen if anyone strongly feels otherwise, providing more information at the same time. At the time of writing, the latest supported Thunderbird version is 2.0.0.12 and can be downloaded at http://www.getthunderbird.com/
