RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 250370

People

(Reporter: norbert.notz, Assigned: bugzilla)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.8a3) Gecko/20040816 Firefox/0.9.1+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.8a3) Gecko/20040816 Firefox/0.9.1+

Forgive me that I report 2 bugs in one report. But they are so related that I
think it's better so:

------------------------------------------------------------------
1.
- hold down the left mouse button over a link
- click the right mouse button
- release the left mouse button: The link is loaded!

This makes no sense. IE correctly cancels the left-click if the right
mouse-button is clicked before the left mouse-button is released.

Firefox should do the same.
------------------------------------------------------------------
2.
- hold down the left mouse-button over a link
- move the link over another tab
- click the right mouse-button: The link is loaded in that tab!

IE correctly cancels drag&drop if the right mouse-button is pressed before the
left mouse button is releases.

Firefox should do the same.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
(Please note that I have found this bug with a latest-trunk nightly. I have not
tested other builds but I guess they are also affected.)
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050726
Firefox/1.0+ ID:2005072606
I can confirm both.

Related to Bug 253890 (the second point is an exact duplicate), also posted by
the reporter.
