User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3
This has happened three times now but it seems impossible to determine when it
is going to happen. Suddenly Firefox (and Mozilla 1.7) fails to resolve any DNS
query and no URLs can be accessed. The problem does not affect IE6. It has
happened both at home, when I've been connected via Pipex, and at work, when I'm
connected to Demon.net. The problem only lasts a few minutes.
Not very helpful, I know, sorry.
Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Wait
2. Wait a bit more.
3. Try again
Actual Results:
DNS requests resolved happily again.

I suffer the same problem myself, same build, same install, as system on home
computer, but the work install suffers "hangs" on "looking up xyx.com".
If I hit the bookmark/link again, many times it suddenly resolves, but if it's
going to another window, dead window results with empty address bar, so
refresh/go is useless. Another tab, generally can have access to the link and
hitting the refresh/go will (50/50) reach the site.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1
Work Network configuration, connected to LinkSys router/switch with DHCP and
machine on assigned address, DNS address's in router, not in computer.
(2) DNS servers are "live", confirmed.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
