User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616 The three table elements are smaller than the background image. Screen and print preview show the upper left corner of that background image correctly. The printout squeezes the whole background image into the table elements. So, the background does not match with the proper positioned foreground images. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Choose http://www.lrz-muenchen.de/~Seibt/Fehler/Mozilla/wrong_printed_background_in_table/ 2. Print it. Actual Results: The whole background image is squeezed into the table elements. Expected Results: Only print the upper left corner of the background image like rendered on screen or in print preview.

Please test a 1.8a3 build? There is a good chance this is just the same thing as bug 125276, which is fixed on trunk but not in 1.7.
Depends on: 125276
it still happens with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111 and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050126 Firefox/1.0+

(In reply to comment #2) > Created an attachment (id=174373) [edit] > PDF of the Problem (...) The PDF of Matthias Wallner (2005-02-15 05:08 PST) shows no background at all - NOT the problem. (BTW: My Firefox 1.0 ist based on "rv:1.7.5". I've not yet tried it with 1.8.)

Right. Marking duplicate, but please reopen if this can be reproduced with a trunk build. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 125276 ***

It is NOT the same problem as 125276. THIS problem: The whole background image squeezes into the table (ONE page). OTHER problem: An image is splitted on TWO pages. The whole image squeezes in both parts. (It may be the same code module ignoring correct cuttings. So we probably have TWO problems caused by ONE mistake.)

Yes, I agree the symptoms are different, but the cause is likely exactly the same (the image printing code was painting the wrong rect from the image). Again, it would help if you could test a trunk build (say 1.8a6) and let me know whether this bug is present....

Now I'm using Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7. I verified that bug 125276 is resolved. But the this bug still persists. So, this bug is NOT resolved and NOT a duplicate of 125276. Try it! -> "Steps to Reproduce".

Reopening. I still can't reproduce in Linux, though. And I wouldn't be surprised if cairo affected the behavior here since 2.x... So on trunk this might be fixed.
