Thus, if I'm performing a lengthy download and, say, minimize the download manager and start writing a novel on my favourite word processor, I can see how far my download has progressed by simply glancing at the taskbar. Much nicer :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla. 2. Download something. 3. Witness the fact that the taskbar gives no indication as to download progress.
Summary: Simple download manager enhancement → Display dowload progress in the taskbar
And what should happen if there is more than one download running? If you want progress in the status bar, switch to the Progress Dialog under Navigator->Downloads in the preferences.

This has been filed before (and marked invalid or wontfix, iirc). Please find the original and mark this duplicate.

Nearest dupe i could find would be Bug 234396, that one was about Firefox.

nope, this one here is about download manager, not about progress dialog.

Can't find a better dup than bug 72982 but I think this should be INVALID or WONTFIX since there is no way to decide which progress to show for multiple downloads and there is already a different way to do this (progress windows).
