User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Build Identifier: This is a feature enhancement request: I would like Mozilla to have a mode to configure IMAP mail to download messages like a POP does. For example, I want it to connect, retrieve *all* messages, put them into my local Inbox and then delete all messages from the server Inbox. I can *almost* do this using a mail filter, but it has two problems: 1) When the mail filter is moving the mail from my remote Inbox to my local Inbox, I am partially locked out of my local Inbox. If I try to move any message into or out of my local Inbox, I get an error that says "Inbox is in used by another process." Sometimes Mozilla crashes also. 2) After the mail filter has moved the mail from my remote Inbox, it doesn't truly delete it from the server until I compact the remote Inbox folder. When using a POP server, neither of these issues occurs. I'm not locked out of the Inbox while mail is downloading, and all messages can be truly deleted from the server after they are retrieved. My request is to maybe add a checkbox to the IMAP settings that says "Automatically download all messages to local Inbox" When using this setting, I should also be able to use message filtering and have it behave as expected. Basically this is just a mode to make Mozilla use IMAP, but work just like POP. This is nice because sometimes you want all of your mail to download in the background automatically so that when you click on a large attachment, it launches very fast. With IMAP, you can't do this, with POP you can. Unfortunately my mail account does not support POP. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
