User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 Firefox/0.10

When adding Live Bookmark manually(File -> New Live Bookmark... in Bookmarks
Manager), it only provides the URL to be filled in as FEEDURL attribute in
bookmarks.html.
However, it makes Live Bookmark empty in Location column in Bookmark Manager due
to the lack of URL attribute.
Besides, this makes the Live Bookmark couldn't be imported to Mozilla as links
for backwards-compatibility.
I hope the <link> element inside feeds could be filled automatically when adding
Live Bookmark in order to fix the above issues.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
This works now as far as I can see.
It merely works via subscribing icon from the statusbar but not manually adding
Live Bookmark from Bookmarks Manager.
I tested on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3)
Gecko/20041015 Firefox/0.10.

The problem with this is that the URL is normally obtained from the page that
you were on when the feed was discovered. When adding the feed manually, there
is no such page, so it's pretty much impossible to get a base URL. Are you
suggesting there be a field to allow entering it manually?
My original idea is making Firefox replaces the URL when there's <link> element
which is on the same level of the <title> element in the feed.
Is it of practical use? If not, allow entering manually is also a good idea for
me.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.

Filed bug 341972 for updating the site URI when the feed is parsed in Places; I really doubt it's going to get fixed in the old-style parser, though.
sorry for bugspam, long-overdue mass reassign of ancient QA contact bugs, filter on "beltznerLovesGoats" to get rid of this mass change
