I think putty.exe lets you do this if you have no idea what i'm talking about." Such a feature is available for Linux when highlighting copies to clipboard and middle click pastes. This sounds like bug 160200, "clipboard.autocopy does not work" on windows (the pref that determines whether highlighted/selected text is copied to the clipboard.)
