Details
It would be a good idea if we had a pref that could enable parsing the cookie
domain as described here:
http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/~glineham/cookiemonster.html
This could be implemented by having a set of two-dot toplevel domains (.com,
.net, ....) and making sure any domain not in this list is checked for a third
dot. In addition, it would be nice if this two-dot list could be easily added
to, in case there are future TLD additions.

This is similar to bug 25857. See the discussion I added there (and also see
bug 8743) to understand why this won't be fixed.
