I just have an idea of how to make Firefox (and other Mozilla products) easier to find (more visible) in Start Menu > Programs listing. I don't know if it works in other versions of Windows, but it does in Windows XP. A user can set properties of a Start Menu folder for Firefox shortcuts. If you right click on a folder and select Properties, then you can switch to Customize tab. At the buttom you have an option to change the folder icon. Now you can select Firefox icon and this icon is then shown for Firefox folder on Start Menu. What this does is it creates a hidden file in this folder which is named "Desktop.ini". And the file has this contents: [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile=D:\Programs\Firefox\firefox.exe IconIndex=0 Maybe Firefox installer could automatically create such a file to set an icon for Firefox folder.

This is how the Start Menu folder icons look for some of the Mozilla applications.
This would be inconsistent with every product I have installed on my computer, and every program I've ever seen. Would that be a good thing?
This would be inconsistent with user expectations and a deviation from windows conventions. -> WONTFIX
