Steps to Reproduce:
Open the Sunbird calendar application.
Actual Results:  
In Sunbird browser Address Book facility is not available.
We cannot store addresses.



Expected Results:  
There should be Address book Facility present.

I'm not really sure if an address book has a place in Sunbird.  With Lightning
coming out, that should handle the closer integration with Thunderbird, which
has an address book.  For Sunbird to simply be a calendar application, I fail to
see many uses for an address book.  Perhaps I'm not thinking of something
though.  Could you explain further how you think this is vital to Sunbird?  It
feels like it could be an extension at best.

An address book is vital for most calendar users.  It allows the user to link 
people to events (i.e. who is attending a meeting, birthday reminders, et 
cetera).  It should also help to link locations to events.

Sunbird without a calendar is useless to me, and if this is left as a wontfix I 
think the entire project is doomed.

The reason this would be useful for me, and possibly other users, is that I am not wanting to pay over 200$ to purchase a program like Act!, and Thunderbird doesn't work for me because of my setup.
Also, what I am suggesting is Contact Management, and is different from an address book. Contact Management software holds much more information than an address book and is more useful for businesses.
I would suggest that instead of leaving the status at Wontfix to make it open for programmers to refer to. Reason being that I believe it would be a substantial addition to Sunbird, especially considering that after copious research I still haven't found any freeware or opensource applications that do just Calendar/Contact Management, and are slowed down by too many extra features.
I'm not sure I agree with ([e-mail]) that without this Sunbird is doomed, but I do believe that it's a bad move to so quickly decide that this is Wontfix.
