Many IE converts miss that feature of IE, and may even switch back to it. Firefox should have a similar feature. A "pin" icon can be used to flag always visible, or auto-hide. When it's hidden, it'll only appear when the mouse goes over to the side of the screen, just like IE6. This could actually be a useful feature when not in full-screen mode, as well. Re-opening for two reasons: 1. Bug 126718 is a Mozilla bug. 2. Bug 126718 is about the toolbars, and this bug is about the sidebars. We should keep them separate to ensure both features are tracked.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I'd just also like to confirm that this would add an interesting feature to Firefox. An auto-hiding bookmark sidebar would be more attractive to users, as it wouldn't eat up space permanently. That way it'd be more appealing to manage and use one's bookmarks there. Keeping many bookmarks in the toolbar only is no way around the sidebar, because if the bookmarks are grouped in many sub-folders, its a pain to navigate.

Duping forward to 380566 since it doesn't deal just with fullscreen.
