Downloaded Firefox 1.0 from Mozilla website. Firefox would request I designate a "Profile" but would 
fail to fully open. Never got to the browser page. Is there an uninstaller?

Firefox asking that you designate a profile would indicate that you had more
than one profile for firefox already on your system.  There a couple options:
Create a new profile with the Firefox that you just installed, select it and
launch Firefox.  Or, clear out the old profile data and relaunch Firefox.  The
safest way to do this is to shutdown Firefox, delete the folder
*user*/Library/Application Support (that's where the Firefox profile info is
stored)  Doing this will delete all previous Firefox profile data. Then relaunch
Firefox.  

There isn't a unistaller.  Just throw the Firefox disc image in the trash.
