260138 - one key (pressing space bar) reading of RSS feed (full article page) does not scroll message body

When pressing the space bar while reading mail, I either go to the next unread
message if the bottom of the current message is visible, OR, it scrolls the
message pane by one screen.  This makes it possible to read my mail by just
pressing the space bar.  Space and the N key are a great combination: space
scrolls the message pane and N always goes to the next unread message.

Well, when reading RSS feeds, Space always goes to the next message, like the N
key does when reading regular mail.

Um ... I swear I tried 20 different ways to get this to work but this morning I
noticed that pressing the space bar actualy did scroll the body of the RSS
article window like I was hoping it would.

There must be some situation where this does not work since I couldn't get it to
work for 3 or 4 days before I filed the bug.

I am subscribed to this RSS feed.  One key (Space bar) viewing does not work
properly.  Maybe this is enough to go on.

This happens all the time on OS X, Thunderbird 0.8.  At no time does space
scroll the message window, either when selecting the message or clicking inside
the message window.

This is with many different RSS feeds (gizmodo, macosxhints, die puny humans).

confirmed linux thunderbird aviary 2004-10-12: distrowatch.com news, inside
firefox, random particles, the burning edge. Agree 100% about those pesky humans.

I have a vague feeling that the Space bar will scroll the window if the RSS
summary is big enough to require scrolling, BUT, if it's the full article that
you're viewing it will never scroll the window.

Could that be it?

that's right, summaries scroll fine. testing is a good cure for vague feelings ;)
