Look at the 'Severity' dropdown list, it does not show default selected value, which is visible on IE 6.0 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox 2. Scroll down and see 'Severity' combo box (dropdown list). By default, "Normal: It's a bug that should be fixed" is selected. 3. Select again default selected item, i.e. "Normal: It's a bug that should be fixed". Actual Results: The combo box or dropdown list does not show value on web form. Expected Results: The combo box or dropdown list should display default selected value on web form as it does on IE 6.0 If you change from default selected value to something else and come back to default selected value, then dropdown list shows value as expected.

I can confirm this as a bug in the official 1.0 release of FireFox. I have web applications code that I write and Firefox is the only browser where the default value is not displayed if it is not the first value in the list. on IE (5+), and Netscape 7 this works perfectly. If people are to market FireFox as a browser people need to use, this is a small, but very important, feature that needs to function properly. Otherwise I cnnot in good conscience recommend it to casual users for my sites, when pages and forms will not display properly.
