There's currently no preference in the Options/Accessibility dialog to disable
the sound for Find As You Type. The preference name (as seen in about:config) is
"accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound".

I'd like a preference added to the dialog, because I find the sound annoying and
unnecessary, given the toolbar now indicates the search status with colour and a
description.

Actual Results:  
No preference under Tools, Options, Advanced, Accessibility for disabling the
sound effect.

confirming, but I don't think this pref will be included in Tools>Options.

Where should it be included then ? Most if not all options are on the
Tools>Options dialog. It allows users to quickly configure Firefox to their needs.

actually, 90% of preferences in Mozilla don't have UI in Firefox, but they still
exist.  The most if not all comment is far far from the truth.

The point is to have UI for common/important preferences, while minor tweaks
like this can be handled via about:config or other means.

This was something we decided against having UI for a long time ago, and nothing
has changed since that decision was made.
