Details

First thing i did revealed a bug: i went to Edit->Preferences->Proxies, checked
"Manual proxy configuration" radio button, typed an ip number into "Ftp proxy"
field, typed port number in next field, selected and copied contents of "Ftp
proxy" field onto clipboard (ctrl-c) and pasted it into then "Http proxy" field.
The field totaly messed up.
