Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040920
When junk mails are in the trash folder, they can not be deleted by
File/Empty_Trash folder, unless the trash folder was selected.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. move some unwanted mails into trash folder
2. issue File/Empty_traash, (the trash will be still there)
3. select trash folder, issue File/Empty_trash, trash will be emptied.
Actual Results:
As described above
Expected Results:
Be able to dump trash from any mail folder.
This problem does not show up in earlier version of Mozilla. However, it seems
to me, somewhere along the line of releasing 1.8 alpha, variation of this
problem started.

Worksforme with Mozilla 2005010905 on Mac OS 10.3.7. I moved three unread junk
mails to the trash folder, selected the inbox folder on that account and did
"File" --> "Empty Trash". The junk mails disappeared from the Trash.
