User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 When scrolling down the page at http://www.hpcfactor.com/reviews/software/vnc-3-3-7/default.asp the browser crashes when it gets part of the way down. using the space bar or the right side scroll bar does not seem to change the behavior, so I'm guessing it's a layout issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.hpcfactor.com/reviews/software/vnc-3-3-7/default.asp 2. Scroll down the page using the scroll bar or space bar. 3. Crash. Actual Results: Crash. Expected Results: Not crashed.
Works fine in Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113
OK on Firefox 1.0PR Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; @AB_CD@; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040922 Firefox/0.9.1+ WFM
Works for me: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10
every version of mozilla has crashed on scrolling random pages (varies based on content, i imagine) but not firefox...wtf? i thought they shared a codebase... but of course ff doesn't enable spacebar scrolling...rfa:-(
now that i'm home, v1.8a4 doesn't crash on the given url, but appleinsider.com just did (talkback incident #TB1141417M) as did macnn.com (TB1054876W & TB1103361E) wired.com (TB1103776Z)

Reporter, could you please upload another test URL so we can try to confirm this bug? Also, more details would be appreciated. Thanks.
I may have encountered another instance of this at <URL:http://www.dot.ca.gov/traffic/>. See TalkBack Incident ID #5950578. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 If this is a different problem, please let me know so that I can submit a new bug report.
By the way, my crash (comment #10) is also reproducible. If my crash is indeed the same problem, then please change both Hardware and OS to "ALL" from "Macintosh" and "MacOS X". I crashed on a PC with Windows 98SE.
david@rossde.com: your crash is java related: http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/talkback/fastfind.jsp?search=2&type=iid&id=5950578 there has been no mention of java in this bug, so i'd lean toward a new bug. the only java crashers i know of with vaguely similar skid marks are bug 264062 and bug 292128.
I have submitted new bug #294842.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. The latest beta releases can be obtained from: Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/ Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
marking WFM per comment 1, 2, 3, 4 without those and a dead URL it would be invalid.
