User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.1 Firefox crashes when 'find as you type' (with the new fancy toolbar at the bottom) can't find a matching phrase. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a page (that contains some text?) 2. type / 3. type until the text is'nt found on the page Actual Results: the fayt toolbar turns red and and firefox hangs/crashes. not available for any input by mouse of keyboard. Expected Results: the fayt toolbar should turn red and firefox should not crash!
Why does the user agent string initially reported indicate a Mac build? Did you change these fields manually?
Sorry for the confusion. But as ff was crashed on my windows box (i was making sure that i could reproduce it), i reported the situation using ff on my ibook. The funny thing is that i'm unable to reproduce it at this moment. But i did experienced the crash before in at least 3 different sessions. I remember one session that ff came alive after two minutes of not touching my mouse or keyboard. (btw: I didn't upgrade ff on my mac because i didn't like the (crashing) fayt toolbar. But that is another discussion.)
WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041106 Firefox/1.0 Reporter, can you still reproduce the bug with a recent build?
I switched to linux on my pc, so I'm not able to reproduce the crash anymore. It seams, I was alone here with this crash. (Can it be that ff triggered a bug in windows?)

reporter: please don't use the word "crash" unless your application triggers a message from the os saying that your application crashed. if your application merely becomes unresonsive, please only say that it hung. it's possible that your audio driver on window sdoesn't like us. if you ever switch back and can reproduce, please at least indicate what sound card you have, and its driver version. if possible please test other versions.
