Details
This is a Eudora feature that would make MailNews much more functional for anyone who needs to send large volumes of similar/identical replies. See Eudora's help page for an example implementation. A simplified version would be a single menu item (bar & contextual): Apply Template (to the active compose window) -> [dropdown submenu of Templates] New text from the Template would append after any pre-existing text, such as the reply quote. (Even better would be a placeholder to allow parts of the template on both sides of the quote, but one side or the other would be sufficient)

At the very least, if a menu item isn't going to be added, I'd figure one should be able to drag and drop templates from the template folder onto a pre-existing message to insert the text.

sorry for the spam. making bugzilla reflect reality as I'm not working on these bugs. filter on FOOBARCHEESE to remove these in bulk.
