User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040927 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040927 At the music website http://www.emusic.com, every time I try to listen to a sample of music, Mozilla (and Firefox) asks me how to handle the audio/x-mpegurl file. The check box to check "Always perform this action when handling files of this type" is grayed out. When I open the Preferences in the Helper Applications Preferences, I see an entry for audio/x-mpegurl, which I have specified my preferred helper application, but I keep getting the dialog box everytime I click on such a link. Emusic.com just re-designed their site, and this only began after the re-design. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on "listen" link (audio/x-mpegurl) 2. 3. Actual Results: I get the dialog box asking me how to handle the file. Expected Results: My preferred helper application should automatically open file in iTunes.
can you attach a screenshot of that dialog to this bug (at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=262587&action=enter)? thanks!
They're sending "Content-Disposition: attachment", which requires the browser to not silently render the content.... The dialog says this pretty clearly (note that it doesn't have the "we don't know how to handle this" text!). Over to tech evangelism. Zina, I would suggest contacting emusic and asking them to use "Content-Disposition: inline" instead....

I have similar problems with http://www.traxsource.com The preview audio on this site will not play in any Mac browser, not even FF 1.02. Strangely enough, using the browser embedded in RealPlayer 10 for Mac, the site works flawlessly. What is it that Real is doing right that Firefox, Safari and Omniweb cannot?
