As a mobile user I frequently have to change default SMTP server (my home ISP
insists I use their server, outside I must use the server for the holdenweb.com
domain).

Couldn't the software at least provide a server/port combo box, which would
reduce the click count by three.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit menu
2. Mail/newsgroup account settings
3. Outgoing SMTP server
4. Advanced
5. Select new server
6. Set default
7. OK
8. OK

Hope this isn't a dupe - I *did* do the search.
You can create two identities with different SMTP servers to quickly switch
between them. Currently you need to edit some hidden prefs to configure this.
Bug 202468 will add UI and will also make it easier to change the default SMTP
server in case you don't want to use multiple identities.

This bug was flagged as duplicating 202468 and closed. Forefox 1.0.4 was
released 20050511, way after 202468 was closed, and yet it *still* takes eight
mouseclicks (plus any scrolling) to change the default SMTP server. Is this now
considered acceptable? If so, sorry to re-open it.

firefox 1.04 has nothing to do with this - you want to try thunderbird 1.1a to
see this fix. I can change the smtp server for the selected account with three
clicks, in 1.1a.
