Reported by Michael R. Wolf in bug 263113 comment 2. ----- Mozilla Foundation provides Firefox binaries for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Windows: Installer Linux: GTK2 + XFT installer MacOS X: Compressed Disk Image ----- "Binaries" is too geeky. I'm not sure how to get rid of it. "Installer" as the link text is confusing. Michael R. Wolf: "looks more like I'm downloading the windows installer than a product that will be installed by the windows installer". Since the page doesn't offer a choice between Installer and Zip builds, it should label the download link something like "Firefox for Windows (English)".
> "Binaries" is too geeky. I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Blake fixed this http://www.mozilla.org/webtools/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&file=0.10.html&branch=&root=/cvsroot&subdir=mozilla-org/html/products/firefox/releases&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&rev1=1.21&rev2=1.22 > "Installer" as the link text is confusing. sounds fine to me. (okay, I was going to resolve this as fixed, then I noticed it's Jesse Ruderman :-) ). So I'll hold.

I like Blake's change mentioned in comment 1, and restored it. I also removed "installer or compressed archive", since that was unnecessary: We only promote the Windows and Linux installers.
Fixed in 1.0.html.
