I use Netzero Platinum and Firefox as my browser. However, though I have
firefox set as my default browser, at start Internet Explorer loads up instead.
When using the Mozilla suite, this is not a problem, as Mozilla loads up find.
 Any help would be appreciated.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.logged on to Netzero
2.internet explorer loaded
3.checked setting, firefox is the default

Actual Results:

Internet Explorer loaded instead of Firefox.

Expected Results:
Firefox should have loaded as my default browser.
sound like you should ask netzero why it starts IE.

I have the same problem on WinXP. In contacting Netzero a while ago, they
replied telling me, if I remember correctly, the following:

Firefox does not set itself as the true default browser in the way that IE and
Netscape would. And since that is the case, Netzero doesn't open it.

The only time that I have a problem with IE opening instead of Firefox is this
one. If I set Firefox as default, all hyperlinks will open in Firefox and such,
indicating that something is making it a default to an extent.
I found the support e-mail and I might inquire further asking if it's their
program that won't allow it or if it's Firefox itself. Anyway, this is what they
wrote:

Thanks for taking the time to write to NetZero email support.

Please note that you can use any browser of your choice but can only set
Internet Explorer (all versions) and Netscape (Version 4.x and below) as the
default browser. Mozilla Firefox cannot set as the default browser and to use
it, minimize NetZero (and Internet Explorer) and then launch the Mozilla Firefox
browser.

hence NetZero cannot open in Mozilla Firefox. I hope this addresses your
concerns. Should you require further assistance, feel free to write back to us.
I sent another e-mail to Netzero Support and the actual Netzero program is to
blame, and not Firefox. They say they have taken down the suggestion I made to
implement support for Firefox and may release it in the future. The actual
e-mail is posted below.

"Please note that launching Firefox as the browser that is automatically opened
whenever you connect to NetZero is not currently supported by NetZero. However
you can use the Mozilla Firefox browser to access web but it cannot be selected
to launch automatically once you connect to internet.

Although this feature is currently not available with NetZero, we are very
interested in providing our members with the features they most want, and have
taken note of your suggestion."
not a bug in Firefox. Thanks for tracking this down.
