User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 When opening a bookmark from my Bookmarks menu or the Bookmark Toolbar, CRTL-Click opens it in a new tab in the foreground. CTRL-SHIFT-Click opens it in a new tab in the background. For web links it is opposite. CTRL-Click opens the link on a new tab in the background, and CTRL-SHIFT-Click opens the link on a new tab in the foreground. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Happens with any bookmark or link. Expected Results: It would be better if both bookmarks and links opened in new tabs using the same hot-keys.
URL: any
Summary: CTRL/CTRL-SHIFT to open Bookmark reversed for Links. → CTRL/CTRL-SHIFT to open Bookmark reversed for Links.
(In reply to comment #0) > It would be better if both bookmarks and links opened in new tabs using the same > hot-keys. It does seem like it would make it easier to remember what's going to happen, but since Mike Connor said in bug 236864, comment 2 that it's reversed by design (I assume so that the easier one-modifier click does the most common thing: bookmarks you click because you want to see them, links in new tabs you open because you want to keep reading the current page), you're probably looking at a WONTFIX.
By design, --> WONTFIX.
