New bookmarks lost after Blue Screen / computer crash.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 After adding new bookmark and working a littel bit Pc crashed with blue screen. The blue screen was caused by a kazza i think not by Firefox. After the restart my new bookmark was lost. checkdisk has not changed anything on the harddisk. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

hmm, this is supposed to be fixed by bug 218636 (checkin 20040809)

I don't believe there's any good way to fix this. Any data that is open (bookmarks, history, etc) is susceptible to dataloss when Firefox doesn't close properly. bug 218636 prevents a complete loss of bookmarks, but can't easily prevent loss of new ones.

Yep; there's nothing we can do if the browser crashes in between flushes to disk. We added some code in there to try to prevent the loss of /all/ your bookmarks in the case of an incomplete write, but we can't do anything about losing new bookmarks.
