...pops you out of the grouped mode without restoring the column order for the tree widget. Probably something in threadPane.js

I've seen this in the past, but it works for me, trunk and branch. There must be some key to getting this to happen that I haven't figured out yet.

With TB 0.9 (20041103) I can reproduce this I believe. Here are more details from what I can see. The sort state is from: by date unthreaded | threaded ascending | descending I have tried grouping by other fields with the same results. If you click on any header to change the sorting, the mode is changed to unthreaded. This is also the case if you use the menus (view -> sort by -> (date | sender | etc)) which isn't the case for bug 264941 which is a threading bug.

I can't reproduce the original bug - what you're describing, where clicking on a sort column does a flat sort, is the intended behaviour. There is an RFE bug about having an option to make that sort the groups, but that's already filed.

Hmm, I can reproduce it with the current 0.9 release (20041103). Sort mails by date ascending. Now switch to "group by sort" und then click on the column-head to sort by date descending. Now TB left the "group by sort" mode and shows all messages without groups.

Markus, if after following your steps, the date column had a little triangle, then this bug is works for me. Clicking a column header when in grouped mode takes you out of grouped mode and leaves you in a flat sort, just like it does if you're in threaded mode and click on a column header, by design.

Sorry, I didn't read your previous comment exactly. There you wrote that it's a feature of TB to switch to flat mode if you click on a column-head. But I search vor a solution to switch the order and stay in group mode.
